About Me
Hi there, I'm Sarah.
I'm excited to share the beauty of Northern California and other places from my adventures. Come along with me, and decorate your space with snapshots of nature and bustling cities! And the butterflies and bees. (For the other Adventure Time fans out there.)
Photography has been my passion ever since I first got my hands on a disposable film camera. And then many more. (Sorry Mom.) I became a darkroom vampire in high school, and then started college as a photography major at the University of North Florida. Even though I discovered another passion for research 2 years in, I still felt a rush of excitement when awaiting my newly-developed photos. (I had a film camera because poverty.)
When I moved out to California, to pursue my PhD in Human Development at UC Davis, I learned that mountains exist. I got into hiking and eventually bought my first DSLR camera, which joined me on all adventures. I was fortunate to start traveling here and there. (And taking photos of every neat-looking tree I saw.) Now, I guess I’m a nature and travel photographer? An amateur one of course.
Additionally, my partner and I recently started caring for two cats for our friends who are living abroad. Their names are Luchín (grey boi in the photo to the right) AKA Monkey, and Yoyito (black/white fuzzy boi) AKA Floof. My personal instagram is now a Catstagram and they also sneak into my photo account.
I recently earned my PhD, and now work towards improving the lives of others through research. Check out my personal website (link coming soon) if you're curious. Otherwise, I hope that you can also find joy in pretty photos.
Thank you for reading!
Sarah
